Ladies 1s vs Sunderland 1

The ladies travelled up to Sunderland with a strong squad of 13, ready and focused after a great warm-up. Spirits were high, and we set out to press from the start — with Stevo stepping up in goal instead of Alex.

From the first whistle, Sunderland piled on the pressure, but Stevo pulled off some superb diving saves, keeping us firmly in the game. The defence worked brilliantly as a unit, staying organised and composed. We had a few chances of our own, finishing the first half with a short corner that we unfortunately couldn’t convert — half-time 0–0.

We started the second half pressing high and looking for that opening goal. Despite our efforts and intensity, Sunderland managed to break through and score, making it 1–0. The team battled hard, showing real determination even as the absence of some of our regular players began to show. The energy never dropped, but Sunderland managed to find a second goal late on.

Final score: 2–0 to Sunderland.

⭐ Girl of the Game: Stevo – outstanding performance in goal, with incredible diving saves and excellent movement throughout.

😂 Wally of the Week: Lynsey (sponsored by Crimson Kitchen & Interiors Ltd) – for her pre-game antics and that unforgettable green card!

A huge thank you as always to our sponsors, spectators, and coaches for their continued support – it never goes unnoticed! 💙
