The men’s first produced a dazzling performance to romp home in double figures against Premier League strugglers Leeds.

Fired up from the off, Stockton had the best of the early exchanges. Myles Brown turned with skill and exchanged passes with his midfield partner Jack Addison. Timmy Foley looked dangerous at the top while veteran front man Sean Wilson applied the pressure.

Left back Oscar Thomas found Alex Heath with a towering aerial; the silky left winger rounded a defender and fed Wilson who laid it on for Max Mowbray to open the scoring.

The lead was soon doubled. Mowbray linked up with Foley who found Wilson on the back post for a quick-fire second. Foley himself was soon in on the act, finishing neatly after a Wilson through ball as Stockton poured forwards.

Joe Roberts and Dan Stewart marshalled the back line and resiliently dealt with any breakaways from the visitors. Adam Turner in goal, a spectator for much of the half, leapt into action when called upon. 

Just before the break, Thomas buried a short corner high into the net for Stockton’s’ fourth.

The second half began as the first had with Stockton in the ascendancy. Heath buried his 30th goal of the season with a trademark drag flick from a penalty corner. 

Unselfish forward play saw Jake Leader and Ben Chilton have simple finishes for goals six and seven. Wilson providing assists all over the shooting circle after tantalising and (at times) unplayable forward running from Mowbray. 

Delighted skipper James Tompkinson head for the action, driving into the circle to win a penalty corner. Heath’s flick was saved this time but off the rebound he unleashed a fearsome upright reverse stick shot high into the net. 

Wilson was on hand to finish at the back post, for his second, after Foley and Mowbray broke away when Addison won a turnover in the centre and Mowbray completed the rout with an tap in after he, Foley and Wilson bamboozled the visiting rearguard with pace and precision for a perfect ten.
